"Gold Quality" beaches. --- --- ### NATURE & HIKING TRAILS The Golf Mar has two short and easy hiking trails that starts and ends at the Golf Mar Hotel: #### Golf Mar Cliffs’ Trail This short loop trail is perfect to enjoy an idyllic view at the top of the cliff. From here, you have an excellent view of the Atlantic Ocean. On sunny days it is an excellent spot for watching the the Peniche Peninsula and the Berlengas archipelago, declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. You follow the trail along the edges of the cliff, having at your left the Conchas beach. On the return to the hotel you will pass by the Horse-Riding Centre and the Vimeiro Clube Aventura. This is a great hiking or walking spot if you have young kids. Trails are more like walking paths and it’s within a short distance of the hotel. After leaving the hotel, you will catch a glimpse of Porto Novo Beach, the place where the British army disembarked, in 1807, ready to go to battle against the French troops, during the first Napoleonic invasion. In a quiet curve of the Alcabrichel river merged with the green hillsides and white limestone cliffs you will find the Vimeiro Thermal Centre. You can whether end the trail at the arrival of the Vimeiro Thermal Centre or you can continue the stroll heading to the Vimeiro Swimming Pool, an iconic swimming pool fed by thermal waters. This is an easy hiking so suitable for young kids. Trails are more like walking paths and it’s within a short distance of the hotel.
